Welcome to the Union of Magic Secondary School aka UOMSS, a gifted school roleplaying forum.
Places are always open for those willing to fill them. As long as you try your hardest (and aren't overly ridiculous) you'll be accepted into the school.
The school is still new, as new students and teachers are making their way in. So why don't you join in? Make sure you read the Rules, etc., then head over to the 'applications' board.
If you're just interested in advertising, there's a board near the bottom of the page.
Enjoy!
Yours sincerely,
GC

Cherry Blossoms and Magnolia Trees « Thread Started on Sept 15, 2007, 3:27pm »
Kontessa strolled slowly through the garden pathways. The trees offered dappled light on the footpath and the ground, the flowers were quite colourful and some of them made her smile.
Her favourite trees were Cherry Blossom Trees and Magnolias. She loved they way the were so fragile and timid, she smiled as she thought about them, making her way silently to the trees. One hand held a book to her chest, the other hand hung freely by her side.
She let go of a sigh as she stopped under the Magnolia tree and she smiled as she turned and sat down with her back against it. She looked at the engraved cover of the book and let her hands trace the leafy patterns for a while before she took another deep breath, opened the book and pulled a biro from behind her ear.
Removing the pen and looking down unto the yellowed page let her long dark hair loosely fall over her face. She closed her eyes and let her hand start to write.

Nature. What is the point? Diane is not the most nature loving person in the world, to say the least. Green is her least favourite colour, and she just doesn't see the point in spending so much effort on something which is just either strong enough to survive on it's own, or not worth poluting the evolutionary balence. So why was she in the gardens? Well, just because she didn't like it didn't mean she didn't want to see it. And, she had to admit, it was rather pretty. She was walking along the path, watching everything and committing it to memory as she was pretty sure she wouldn't return, when she wasn't alone. Curious, she stepped across the ground away from the path. "Hi." she said, her word sounding too short. "I'm sorry to disturb your writ- hang on... are you writing?" she asked suddenly, seeing her eyes had been closed but her hand was writing.

Kontessa didn't hear the footsteps, she was completely unaware of any life around her. She was in fact, in nothing but the magnolias and the cherry blossoms. Her body jerked when the voice reached her ears and her eyes snapped open, the pen fell out of her hand and it stopped short mid-word. She blinked slightly confused and looked up at the girl who had woken her.
She blushed slightly and looked at the page, her hand moved to pick the pen up from the ground and she nodded. "It's called automatic writing." She said with a small smile.

"Automatic writing?" she repeated. It didn't take a genius to work out what that meant, especially when she'd said seen it with her own eyes. She looked at the page, staring at the half-written word, as she sat down on the ground beside Kontessa, corss-legged. "That's a cool trick. Is it your natural power, or a spell?" she made it a note to try and learn it if it was a spell, and try and find a similar spell if it was one. Though it probably wouldn't be that useful, as she had to write spells down to activate them anyway.
"I'm really sorry," she said, looking at the book's unfinished words. "But I knida told myself that I should try and be confident and try and find friends, and, um, you were here. If I knew you were busy, I wouldn't have bothered! Honest!" she said. First impressions weren't going so well for Diane, not that they ever did.

Kontessa laughed a little and shook her head.
"It's something anyone can do," she started. "After a while." She added quickly, it wasn't exactly something one could learn easily, it took practice, and the ability to let your mind go was a big part of automatic writing.
She looked down at the half written word and closed her book, blushing slightly. "It's a handy trick I guess, but sometimes, it can cause embarrassment, as you don't know what you're writing until you've finished." She cleared her throat and shook her head at the girl's apologies. "Its ok. I can understand that." She extended her hand. "I'm Kontessa." She smiled.

She sat forwards, a wide smile to know she wasn't going to be thrown away. "I'm Diane," she said, but the idea of the automatic writing was distracting her and making her not even realise she was saying the automatic response, so would probably forget the complicated name quickly. "So... you don't know what you're going to write? I'd hate to think of what mine would do.... scary scary stuff..." even though she was joking, there was an edge of seriousness.
"So, what have you written? If you don't mind me asking." she added quickly.

Kontessa tried to commit Diane's name to her memory and smiled, she could see the girl was fascinated, but she didn't blame her. Automatic writing fascinated her, still.
She shook her head and chuckled a little at what Diane said about what she thought her mind would write. She thought about the one word she'd read clearly and licked her lips. "I was writing about my brother." She said quietly.
