So what magic can my character have?
Every character has the same, progressive magic. In other words, you learn spells which you can use again. Some people find they need to think the words, others to say it allowed and others have to write it down and burn it at the time they need to use it. There are many different ways to cast the spells, but the spells remain constant. Students often have a natural ability too.

What sort of ‘natural ability’?
A power or ‘spell’ that can be used without the use of the learnt spell. The power is always pretty basic and uncontrollable in younger students, but can be improved upon with private tutoring, practise and time. Students can only have one natural ability, no matter how basic it is.

Can my character have wings? Please?
I guess so! But remember that this counts as your character’s natural ability, so you may prefer to have something else instead.

So why is there magic in the first place?
Magic is a natural phenomenon that’s been occurring in some children for an eternity. It’s not a secret, but most people just don’t believe it’s true.

What is UOMSS?
The Union of Magic Secondary School is a new boarding and non-boarding school, situated in on of the remotest areas in England, is one of the schools specially made for the ‘talented’. UOMSS is the 3rd one in England, but the funding and reputation of the teachers and headmistress of the school has made it already considered one of the greatest secondary schools in the magical world before its opening. Many from other countries have also decided to join, though the student body is largely British.

How new is 'new'?
Very new. The school opened at the beginning of this school year, which was Septemeber 6th, and the forum started about a week later.

Why does it start at year 7? Is there a UOMPS?
Primary school takes up the years from 1-7. There isn’t a school called UoMPS, but there are many primary schools around, which is where the majority of the students will have come from.

What lessons do I need?
You can take as many or as few lessons as you like! You can take none if you want, but that might not be as fun…

Why are Year 12 and 13 optional?
The system is based on the English non-magical education system. At the end of Year 11, students are required to take both GCSEs – non-magic - and MGCSEs – magic qualifications. After that, if you get good enough marks you can continue into 6th form where you can study for A-levels and MA-levels, or just go out and get a job. Both magical and non-magical qualifications need to be given so that the students can cope in either society.

How is my character sorted?
Just fill in your application form and I'll do the rest. If you really disagree with how I sort you, just tell me and we can come to some sort of agreement ^^
